Barraclough and Crampton 1981 also say:
"The Air Force Ensign follows the same pattern as that of Britain, with the National Flag in the canton, and the target, coloured inwards black, white, red, green, in the fly." Source: [bcr81], page 151. I wonder whether this is just an omission of the second white fimbriation or whether such a target actually existed.

Kenya Airforce was formed in 1 June 1964.
[cos98] and [whe86] report the same roundel and fin flash as on this page.
However, while both and Album 2000. report the fin flash as verucal stripes, the photo at this page show it as horizontal stripes.
Gevernment planes use national flag as fin flash as seen at this site.
